The St. Andrew North Police said they have deployed additional personnel to communities in that division following five murders over the weekend.

Superintendent of Police, Anthony Morris, said criminal activities have been increasing in that division.

He is urging residents to cooperate with the police in an attempt to identify those responsible for the crimes.

Kevin Joyles, 30, was killed during a foiled robbery attempt around 4.30 p.m. on Friday.

Superintendent Morris said gunmen attempted to rob Mr. Joyles’ motorcycle, which was parked in front of his business place at Roberts Plaza on Red Hills Road.

He said Joyles resisted and was shot.

An hour later, Omar Harper was stabbed to death during a card game on Markland Road, Grants Pen.

Several hours later 33 year old Air Hostess, Kathy Stamps-Francis was also shot and killed on Pamella Drive, as gunmen attempted to steal her vehicle.

On Saturday, two brothers were shot one fatally along Constant Spring Road.
