He pointed to several initiatives currently being undertaken by the government to stamp out corruption among parliamentarians, and to establish an Independent authority to investigate complaints against the police.

Mr. Golding also said the appointment of a new Police Commissioner and National Security Minister would ensure improved management of the security forces.

He also sought to downplay the link between politics and crime in the country.
