Police seek two men
The police are still to locate two men who managed to elude them during an operation at Heroes Circle in Central Kingston this morning.
A man was shot dead by the police , while eight 9 millimeter semi-automatic pistols, 4 revolvers, and a M-14 rifle along with 400 assorted rounds of ammunition were seized during the operation.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Glenmore Hinds, said around 1 a.m. this morning a patrol team, led by Operation Kingfish, was shot at after members stopped two vehicles in the Heroes Circle area.
He said the police returned fire and one man, who remains unidentified, was found suffering from gunshot wounds. He later died in hospital.
ACP Hinds said three persons, including a woman were taken into custody.
He said one of the men in custody is believed to be the mastermind behind the drugs for guns trade between Jamaica and Haiti.
ACP Hinds said the police are making progress in identifying the individuals who are actively involved in the trade.
