A 30 year old bar operator, Glendon ‘Bull’ Amos, of Commodore near Linstead St. Catherine has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for illegal possession of firearm and shooting with intent at a policeman.

Mr. Justice Donald McIntosh sentenced Amos after he found him guilty of the offences in the Gun Court yesterday.

The Crown led evidence at the trial that on August 9, 2006 a policeman spotted a minibus, which was reported stolen.

He looked inside the minibus and saw two men inside, one of whom was Amos who the policeman knew.

The two men ran from the minibus and Amos fired at the policeman.

The men escaped into bushes and the policeman made a report at the Linstead police station.

Amos was arrested and charged in November 2006.

In his defence, Amos said he was not in the area at the time of the incident.
