Toll hiked

The new toll rates recently advertised for the Portmore, Vineyards and Spanish Town legs of Highway 2000 takes effect this Saturday.
According to Manager of Communication at the Transport Ministry, Reginald Allen, the implementation of the new rates received little challenge from members of the public, who were asked to comment on them.
He said only one person had so far responded to the Ministry’s announced rate hike on Monday when an extended deadline ended.
He said that as a result the applicable rates of between 16.6 percent and 66 percent increase would take effect.
