Jerk Festival disrupted

The Portland Pepsi Jerk Festival was last night disrupted by a bottle throwing incident, after it was announced that guest artiste Beenie Man, would not be performing.

The incident took place at 11.45 p.m., shortly after veteran reggae artiste, Sanchez, exited the stage.

Master of ceremonies Shaka Fame, band members, camera men, and stage security, scurried for cover as irate patrons in front of stage started pelting bottles, and other items, after claiming they were short-changed.

The bottle-throwing incident also resulted in thousands of disgruntled patrons making a hasty retreat in fear for their lives. It is the first year that any such incident of violence has occurred at the eight year old festival.

Commanding officer for Portland, Superintendent Dudley Scott, quickly dispatched law enforcement officers to the troubled location.

The Portland Jerk festival committee is expected to hold a press conference later this week to discuss the occurrence, which may have impacted negatively on the family fun event.
