Unidentified man killed

An unidentified man was killed and an illegal firearm seized during a joint police/military operation in St. James last night.
The police said they were on patrol in Norwood when they came upon a group of gunmen.
They said they were shot at while approaching the group.
The police reportedly fired back at the gunmen, when the man, who is said to be about 20 years old, was shot.
A home-made handgun with one 9 mililimetre round was reportedly taken from him.
