Ambassador’s funeral this weekend
The funeral for retired Ambassador Louis Boothe has been scheduled for this Saturday at the University Chapel, Mona starting at 2.30 p.m.
Ambassador Boothe, who was a public servant in the colonial period died last week.
He was as a clerk in the Resident Magistrate’s Court from 1951 to 1955 and worked in the chief secretary’s office from 1957 to 1961.
The deputy Prime Minister Dr. Ken Baugh has hailed the work of ambassador Boothe.
Dr. Baugh, who is also the foreign affairs minister has also recognised the works of another retired ambassador, Carmen Parris who died two Tuesdays ago.
Ambassador Boothe, a former permanent secretary in the Foreign Affairs Ministry at one time.
Dr. Baugh said ambassadors Boothe and Paris were from a select group of early public servants, who charted the development of the ministry.
He said they discharged their responsibilities with unrelenting commitment, passion, integrity and faith.
