NEPA issues hunter’s licence
The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) will begin issuing hunter’s license for the 2008 Game bird shooting season today.
The Game Bird Shooting season will run from Saturday August 23 to September 28.
NEPA said all hunters must obtain a licence from its vendors or from the agency.
NEPA is warning that unlicensed hunters and licensed hunters who are caught shooting outside the season may be fined up to $100,000 or imprisoned for one year if convicted.
A similar penalty may apply to hunters exceeding the bag limit.
The shooting session is from Sunrise to 9 a.m. on Saturday mornings and from 2.30 p.m. to sunset.
On Sundays, shooting will only be allowed from sunrise to 9 a.m.
NEPA said the only birds, which may be hunted during the season, are the Bald Pate, Pea Dove, White Winged Dove and the Long Tailed Pea Dove.
