The police high command said it is close to completing its investigation into the alleged illegal searching of the house of Attorney-at-law Carolyn Reid.

Members of a joint police/military squad reportedly searched the house in East Kingston on Saturday morning, while Miss Reid’s mother was there alone.

Mrs. Reid is part of the legal team representing Superintendent Harry \'Bungles\' Daley, who is on corruption and extortion charges.

Assistant Police Commissioner, Owen Ellington, would not reveal details of the investigation this morning.

He said a statement would be released later today with all the facts of the case.

Valerie Neita Robertson, another member of Superintendent Daley’s legal team said she believes the attorney’s house was specially targeted.

Head of the Anti-Corruption Branch, Assistant Commissioner Justin Felice yesterday said his team did not conduct any search of the lawyers home.

ACP Felice led the team, which arrested Superintendent Daley and charged him with six counts of extortion and six counts of breaching the Corruption Prevention Act.

The police in the East Kingston Division were also unaware of the raid.

Other police divisions including the Mobile Reserves and the Flying Squad also denied carrying out the operation.
