Beijing gets set for 100m finals

All eyes are now on Beijing as the world gears for the 100 metre semis and finals at the 29th Olympiad tomorrow.



Jamaica’s three 100-metre sprinters have all qualified for the semi finals of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China slated for 7.05 a.m.



Usian Bolt qualified for the semis with a time of 9 .92, the fastest time in China.



Assafa Powell, who had been the world record holder clocked 10.02 in the last of the quarterfinals.



Fellow countryman Michael Frater also advanced to the semi-final after clocking 10.09 for second place in first quarterfinal.



America’s Tyson Gay was also easy in his heat and quarter final to go through to the semis.



World-renowned track and field statistician Charles Fuller is predicting two medals for Jamaica in the 100-metre final at the Beijing Olympics.



Fuller says the final should includes three Jamaicans and two Americans.



He also says Bolt should be a safe bet for Jamaica in the 100 metre finals.
