The Jamaica Teachers Association, (JTA) says it is now reviewing a report, which was done to look at how teachers’ salaries in government schools can be matched with those in the private sector.

JTA President Doran Dixon says a copy of the report was presented to the association yesterday during a meeting with the Finance Ministry.

The JTA President says the association will present its findings on the report to the ministry during a meeting next Wednesday.

The report was commissioned by the Finance Ministry and prepared by financial firm, Focal Point Consulting Limited.

Mr. Dixon says the findings of that report will be used to determine how both parties conclude the salary negotiations.

Furthermore, Mr. Dixon says the association will continue other aspects of its salary negotiations with the ministry next week.
