RJR dominates trading on Jamaica stock market
Radio Jamaica Limited dominated trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange today, holding firm at J$2.55 after just over 6.7 million units were traded in a single block transaction by a broker.
This comprised 71.56 per cent of total market volume.
A total of 33 stocks were traded, of which 11 advanced, 14 declined and 8 traded firm.
The 33 stocks resulted in trading in 9.45 million units valued at J$38.95 million.
At the end of the day the combined market closed slightly lower at 92,776.16 points or 0.69 per cent less than Tuesday.
The main market index declined by 0.72 per cent or 663.41 points and closed at 91,461.29 points after 21 stocks were traded. Total volume traded on the main market was 8,329,300 units.
The junior market index advanced by 1.95 points or 0.31 per cent, closing at 625.42 points after trading in 12 stocks.
Almost one million units were traded between Jamaica Broilers Group and Dolphin Cove Limited, comprising almost 10 per cent of volume traded. All other stocks traded well below half million units.
The biggest gains were made by Honey Bun, which went up 45 cents to J$4.70, and AMG Packaging and Paper Company which went up by 27 cents to J$4.00.
The top two losers were Jamaica Producers and Sagicor Life Jamaica.
