JSE sheds 164 points
All the major indices declined on Tuesday after a very light day of trading on the Jamaican stock market. The combined market closed at 93,536.83 after losing 0.17 per cent or163.81 points.
A total of 764,050 units of stocks traded today valuing J$9.66 million.
Of the 27 stocks traded, 13 of them advanced, 12 declined and 2 traded firm.
The main market index declined to 91,984.76 points, a decrease of 0.18 per cent or 164.23 points on volumes of 673,376 units traded on the main market.
The junior market closed at 676.82 points on 90,674 units traded. The junior index lost 0.54 points or 0.17 per cent.
Sagicor Life Jamaica was the most active stock in the market today, with 292,894 units traded. Sagicor accounted for 38.33 percent of total trades. The insurance stock lost one cent to close at J$10.73.
Scotia Group Jamaica Limited accounted for 20.95 per cent of market activity with 160,041 units traded. The banking stock lost 68 cents to close at J$22.50.
The biggest winner at the end of the trade day was Ciboney Group, which advanced by oe cent to close at 7 cents per share. Scotia Investment Jamaica Limited gained J$3.23 to close at J$29.88.
The biggest losers were Caribbean Producers Jamaica, Scotia Group Jamaica and Seprod Limited.
