The Director of Public Prosecution is yet to make a ruling in the case involving a police corporal who was arrested on Friday for breaching the Corruption Prevention Act.

Corporal Robert Blake of the Central Village Police Station in St. Catherine was reportedly caught accepting 40 thousand dollars from a motorist.

He was held during an operation involving members of the Anti Corruption Branch.

The police say about 7:15 Friday evening the Corporal was among police personnel at a shopping centre in Spanish Town when he was observed taking the money from a motorist.

It’s reported that Corporal Blake had earlier arrested the motorist for being in possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

However a compromise was reportedly reached between the two to have money paid to the Corporal in order for the charges to be dropped.

Over fifty members of the JCF have been arrested since the start of the year on corruption charges.
