JDF solider charged

The Jamaica Defence Force corporal who has been charged with the shooting death of four people at a nightclub in Kingston is expected to face the courts later this week.



Twenty-one-year old corporal, Leslie Moodie, who is attached to the Coast Guard, was yesterday charged with four counts of murder.



He has also been charged with three counts of shooting with intent.



The police had earlier reported that on October 20, at 4:14 a.m., Moodie was involved in an altercation with other patrons attending a birthday party.



Moodie reportedly opened fire inside the club injuring several persons.



Twenty-year-old Ejon Peart, Davian Clarke, 19, Lynchmore Forbes, 24, and 28-year-old William Wilberforce were shot dead.



Three men ages 65, 26 and 20 years old were injured during the attack.



The solider was also shot and injured and was admitted to hospital under police guard for several weeks.
