Police probe children’s death
The police are probing whether the deaths of children in Town Head, Westmoreland are linked to poisoning.
The children’s father and two other siblings are now in hospital undergoing treatment.
It is reported that David Hanson and his four children started vomiting on Tuesday.
Two of the children, 16 year old Sherda and 10 year old and Jevaughn were the most seriously affected.
Sherda died in Hospital Thursday, while Jevaughn died Saturday morning.
The other two children, one 12 years old and the other 6, are now hospitalised in serious condition.
Mr. Hanson, who refused to visit the hospital despite intensive vomiting was taken to the hospital by the police and admitted on Saturday morning.
Residents claim that the family had eaten a meal of ackee and tinned mackerel with white rice before they became ill.
There are also allegations that the father had drank some roots drink and given some to the children.
Autopsies are to be conducted on the bodies of the two children on Wednesday.
