Unidentified woman killed

The police are still to identify the body of a woman who was hit by a truck on the Nelson Mandela Highway in St Catherine yesterday.



The police said the woman was hit from the soft shoulder by a Leyland truck, which was travelling towards Kingston when it swerved to avoid hitting a trailer.



The woman, who received multiple injuries died in hospital.



The truck driver was taken into police custody. He has still not been charged.



The Central Village police are also to identify the body of a man, which was found on the Mandela highway last Thursday.



The victim is believed to have been in the mid 20\'s, is of dark complexion, slim build and about 170 centimeters long.



The body was clad in a merino and a multi-coloured underpant.
