Lottery scam suspect arrested

A man who was yesterday arrested in connection with the Mo-Bay Lotto scam is to appear in the Half Way Tree Resident Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.



Walloh Morle, 49, of Granville, St. James was arrested at the Sangster International Airport following a two-year-long probe.



Mr. Morle has been charged with 15 counts of obtaining money by false pretence and 2 counts of money laundering under the Proceeds of Crime Act.



The police said between 2006 and 2008, Morle obtained remittances in excess of US$6 million from an American under questionable circumstances.



He was arrested at the airport yesterday members of the Organised Crime Investigation Division on his return to Jamaica from the United States.
