Opposition spokesman on transport and works, Robert Pickersgill has called for the immediate resignation of the transport minister Mike Henry.

According to Mr. Pickersgill, the transport minister has failed to show leadership on the issue regarding the awarding of the JUTC contracts.

Mr. Pickersgill says the transport minister is treating the public with great impunity and disregard.

Mr Henry was expected to make a statement on the matter in Parliament yesterday, but instead he tabled a report from the JUTC board members.

The opposition spokesman has criticised Mr Henry for being too silent on the issue.
