Air traffic controllers restive

Two meetings have been scheduled for today in an effort to end the impasse between air traffic controllers and the Civil Aviation Authority.
Air Traffic controllers have been restive since last Thursday after talks to settle wage negotiations stalled.
The workers have warned that normalcy cannot be guaranteed at the island’s airports if the issue is not resolved.
A meeting on the weekend between the management of the Civil Aviation Authority and representatives from the Jamaica Air Traffic Controllers Association failed to reach an agreement.
The dispute was referred to the labour ministry and a meeting has been set for 10:00 a.m. today.
Following this meeting, the parties will also meet at the finance ministry at 2:00 p.m.
