The Manchester Police are getting help from the Jamaica Defence Force to provide security for the people of the parish over the Christmas season.
The commanding officer for Manchester Superintendent Ryland Salmon says officers from the Island Special Constabulary Force are also boosting the regular police detachment.
Superintendent Salmon says there will be traffic restrictions in the town later this afternoon.
In recent months there have been concerns about the increase in crimes in Manchester.
But Superintendent Salmon says the situation is now under control.
