Portland truck driver gets more counselling
The driver of the truck that was involved in an accident, which resulted in the deaths of fourteen people, is to undergo another day of counselling by personnel from the Constabulary Force today.
Thirty-one year old mechanic, Christopher Devon Clarke of Boundbrook Road outside of Port Antonio, turned himself in to the police yesterday morning, accompanied by his attorney, Karl McDonald.
Clarke was on the run for ten days after the market truck driven by him plunged over a precipice at Dam Bridge in the Rio Grande valley.
Meanwhile, Clarke who received a number of bruises to his arms, chest, and face was treated and should be interrogated by detectives from the Criminal Investigative Branch before the end of the week.
Seven persons survived the crash but only Lynford Jackson remains in hospital at St Ann’s Bay, recovering from a fractured arm and leg.
At the time of the accident the truck was transporting vendors with farm produce to the Coronation Market in Kingston.
