Analysts predict Cabinet reshuffle

Some analysts are suggesting that a cabinet reshuffle may be in the best interest of the Bruce Golding led administration.

There have been concerns from some sections of the society about the operations of the National Security portfolio.

The current Minister of National Security succeeded Derrick Smith who now heads the Telecommunications Ministry.

Gleaner columnist Martin Henry is of the view that a change in the cabinet may serve to inspire public confidence in the government.

However, political commentator Kevin O\'Brien Chang does not believe a cabinet reshuffle will necessarily make a difference:

Political Commentator Richard Dickie Crawford says a Cabinet shakeup might be necessary for the government to deal with the challenges facing the country.

According to Mr. Crawford a fresh approach is needed to run the country.

He’s suggesting that the ruling Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) and the opposition People’s National Party (PNP) form a unity government to best manage Jamaica’s affairs.
