Tax returns deadline

Today is the last day for employers and self employed persons to file their annual income and education tax returns.



Self-employed persons are also required to file their annual education tax returns by the end of today.



The Tax Administration Department said the employer’s income tax returns should be filed along with the employer’s annual return of PAYE reduction.



The tax department said employers with large staff complements can submit the names of employees on computer printouts.



Additionally self-employed persons should use an ET01 form to reflect their personal gross earnings and education tax payable at the rate of 2 percent for the year.



It says an ET02 form is to be used by self-employed persons, to show the gross pay received and education tax deductions for every eligible worker in the organization.



Companies and other organisations with employees on their payroll are to complete an ET03 form.
