Rameish Simpson in court

Rameish Simpson, the man who was taken to hospital by Member of Parliament for west St Thomas James Robertson following a shooting, is due back in court today.



Simpson, who is of Yallahs, St Thomas is facing charges of shooting with intent and illegal possession of firearm.



He was remanded when he appeared in court last week Friday.



The police say Simpson fired at them during a reported shootout on January 3.



He was reportedly transported to the Kingston Public Hospital by Robertson after he was shot by the police during the incident.



Robertson was also served with summonses for allegedly obstructing the police and using abusive and indecent language.



He is to attend court on February 11.
