Some 120 bauxite employees of Alumina Partners of Jamaica-Alpart could soon join the growing list of unemployed.

This as the management of the bauxite company has indicated that the last of a total of 560 workers could be laid off in a matter of weeks.

The National Workers Union (NWU) is pushing to have a reduction in the number of workdays instead.

President of the NWU, Vincent Morrison says the union met with Alpart’s management last week and has agreed to certain principles.
