Food for the poor redundancies

Charity organisation Food for the Poor Jamaica has made the positions of fourteen workers redundant.



The company said its operations have been facing serious challenges as a result of the downturn in the local and global economy.



According to Food for the Poor the situation it is forced to cut cost to ensure that it continues to provide for the needy.



Staff members were informed of the move through a memorandum on Friday.



Food for the Poor said it will be providing counseling and character references for affected staff.
