NWU dissatisfied with Government/Air J

The National Workers Union (NWU) said it is dissatisfied with a decision by the government and the Air Jamaica management to implement aspects of its new business proposal without full consultation.

NWU Vice president, Granville Valentine is upset that following yesterday’s meeting with the airline’s management, workers received email messages today indicating that there will be changes with immediate effect.

Mr Valentine said the unions had asked the management for more time to examine the proposals as several flaws have been identified in the proposal.

He wants the minister without portfolio in the finance ministry, Senator Don Webhy to convene an early meeting to discuss the issues.
