Another policeman arrested
Another policeman has been arrested on corruption charges and is to appear in court today.
Constable Jasper Henry, 36, of the Half Way Tree Police Station was arrested and charged for several breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act.
He was charged on Friday, following a ruling by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The ruling directed that Constable Henry face departmental and also criminal charges for corruptly accepting money.
The Anti-Corruption Branch received a complaint against Henry and investigations reportedly revealed that he had solicited $20,000 from the complainant for the release of a prisoner in custody.
A sting operation was carried out on the same day by members of the Anti-Corruption Branch during which Henry was held, after he had collected $5,000 from the complainant.
