The National Works Agency (NWA) is set to start a major project tomorrow to rehabilitate a section of the Irwin main road in St. James.

The project, which is expected to cost $8 million, includes the construction of Gabion retaining walls.

According to the NWA, the retaining walls are expected to stabilise the roadway and prevent further erosion by the Montego River.

The Irwin main road in West Central St James started eroding during the November 2007 flood rains.
