Supreme Court Judge Bryan Sykes this morning instructed that a subpoena be issued for Assistant Commissioner Granville Gause to attend the Gun Court Next Friday.

ACP Gause is in charge of the Bureau of Special Investigations (BSI), which probes police shootings.

He is to attend the Gun Court in relation to outstanding statements in relation to a controversial case involving a St. Thomas man called Rameish Simpson.

Last week Friday, the Court ordered that all the statements in particular those of some policemen should be available by today.

However, when the matter came before the court today, it was informed that some of the statements were still not ready.

Rameish Simpson, who is from Bottany Bay near White Horses, St. Thomas is charged with shooting with intent at the police and illegal possession of a firearm.

It was reported that during the incident earlier this year, Simpson was also shot and injured.

He was rescued by West St. Thomas MP James Robertson who took him to the Kingston Public Hospital.

Arising from that incident Mr. Robertson was summoned to the Yallahs Resident Magistrate’s Court to answer charges of obstructing the police in the execution of their dirties and using calumnious language.

The MP is to back to court on March 17.
