The St James man charged in connection with a large gun and ammunition find in St Catherine more than a week ago has been remanded.

Courtney Anthony Jones, 43, a taxi operator of Montego Bay is on charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

He appeared in the Gun Court today but the matter was put off until March 13 to allow the prosecution more time to prepare its files.

On February 8, the police reported that eight firearms including two rifles, four pistols and two revolvers were found in the vehicle he was driving.

They said 99 assorted rounds of ammunition were also found.

If convicted, Jones faces up to 15 years in prison.

The taxi-operator who is said to be a major player in the drugs for guns trade was arrested during a Kingfish led operation.
