The Broadcasting Commission has placed an immediate ban on the airing of all soca lyrics stimulating sexual activities or positions.

The Commission has also banned the airing of lyrics, which glorify the gun and promote killings or other acts of violence.

This latest move follows an earlier directive prohibiting the airing of all daggering and lewd sexual songs.

The Commission said live presentation, audio recording or music video from the soca, hip-hop or any other music genre, which promotes or contains daggering or other sexually explicit activities, must not be aired.

It has also banned the airing of live or recorded coverage of shows, dances or events, where children are stimulating sexual activities.

The Commission said any recording, live song or music video, which promotes and or glorifies the use of guns or other offensive weapon should be immediately pulled from the airwaves.

The Commission said station managers and media owners should take the necessary steps to prevent the transmission of the banned material including songs, which have to be bleeped.
