Flash Flood for northern and eastern parishes
The National Meteorological Service has extended the Flash Flood Watch in effect for the low-lying and flood-prone areas of St Ann, St Mary and Portland until 5.00 a.m.
A flash flood watch means that flash flooding is possible and residents are advised to take precautionary measures and be ready for quick action if flooding is observed or if a Warning is issued.
The Met Office said a cold front and an associated trough are expected to continue influencing weather conditions across the central Caribbean including Jamaica.
Throughout today, Doppler Radar reported light to moderate and at times heavy showers across sections of the island.
The Met Office said showers and thunderstorms would continue mainly across northern parishes tonight into tomorrow.
Fishers and other marine interests are advised to exercise caution as gusty winds and rough seas are likely in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms.
