One Killed in Montpelier Crash
One woman is now dead and several other persons in hospital following a five-vehicle crash in Montpelier, St. James this morning.
The dead woman has been identified as 32-year-old Cotesha Gayle, a security guard at the Sangster International Airport.
She is also said to be the wife of a police sergeant, who was also injured in the crash.
The incident happened shortly before 8 o’ clock.
Police Corporal, Peter Salkey of the St. James traffic department said it is still unclear how the crash happened.
However an alleged eyewitness said the driver of the Honda motorcar was speeding.
The witness said when the car crashed into the approaching vehicle, some of its parts flew and hit other vehicles causing other crashes.
The driver of the vehicle responsible for the crash is among those in hospital.
