The Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) said it is ready for today’s nomination exercise and the by-election on March 23.
It will cost the Government $30M to hold the by-election.
Director of Elections, Orrette Fisher, said the necessary resources have been provided to ensure a smooth process.
On Election Day, the EOJ will be using the Electronic Voter Identification and Ballot Issuing System at all polling stations in West Portland.
Mr. Fisher said training is being conducted for electoral workers in the constituency and for those operating the electronic system.
