PNP accuses JLP of attacking opposition

The Opposition Leader Portia Simpson Miller is expressing concern about what she calls the attack launched against Senator Golding by the JLP.

She said the attack appears to be a reaction to the Opposition’s demand that the Government distances itself from a comment by consultant, Dennis Chung.

Mr Chung has said that the Government may have no option but to consider restructuring of the national debt.

The JLP Administration has since made it clear that Mr Chung’s utterance does not represent the views of the Government.

In a statement last night, Mrs Simpson Miller said the tenor of a recent JLP release demonstrates that the administration in disarray.

Mrs. Simpson Miller also described as frivolous, the JLP’s call for the party to state clearly who’s the Opposition’s Spokesman on Finance.

She said as the spokesman on industry and commerce, Senator Golding is an integral member of the party’s economic team.

Mrs Simpson Millers said the PNP fully back Senator Golding’s utterances.
