St. Mary scammers arrested

Three persons were arrested in St. Mary for their involvement in a lottery scam in the parish.
They were arrested in Rio Nuevo in Oracabessa during a Kingfish led operation shortly after 10 o’ clock last night.
Spokesman for Operation Kingfish, Detective Sergeant Jubert Llewelyn said the lottery scam in St. Mary is linked to a similar operation in St. James and other rural parishes.
He said investigators are reviewing documents which were seized during last night’s operation.
Sergaent Llwelyn said the lottery scam mainly targets persons living in the United States.
He added that investigators will be seeking to find out how the scammers were able to access personal information on people living in the US.
