West Portland recount results completed

The recount of ballots in Monday’s by-election in the West Portland constituency has been completed, with Daryl Vaz of the Jamaica Labour Party gaining 12 more votes.
Vaz’s final vote count is now at 7,927.
The PNP’s Kenneth Rowe gained seven more votes to earn him a total of 5,633, while Astor Black of the New Jamaica Alliance picked up one more vote to earn a final count of 28.
On Monday, Vaz was declared the winner of the by-election after polling 7,915 votes.
He’s to be sworn in as Member of Parliament for the constituency next week Tuesday.
