Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper is to pay an official visit to the island from April 19-20, immediately following the Summit of the Americas in Trinidad.

The hemispheric meeting is scheduled for April 17-19 in Port-of-Spain.

During his visit here, Prime Minister Harper will address a special joint sitting of Parliament on Monday, April 19, a release from the Office of the Prime Minister said on Thursday.

He is also due to hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Bruce Golding on a range of issues, including the global recession, impending free trade negotiations between the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and Canada, and Canada’s assistance in the implementation of the Justice Reform Programme.
