Telecommunications Company Cable and Wireless is to cut some of its staff in the Caribbean under a restructuring programme.

The Chairman of Cable and Wireless Caribbean, Phil Green, said it is too early to say how many people will loose their jobs or which positions will be cut.

Mr. Green said the company intends to transform its Caribbean operations into a single unit.

According to the CEO, the changes would allow the company to rectify some inconsistencies in regional service delivery.

He said under the restructuring, Cable and Wireless would have common branding, positioning, products and services in the Caribbean.

The telecommunications entity currently operates in 13 territories in the region.
