Letter of the Day | Act fast on restricting LGBT-influenced candy

Published:Sunday | October 28, 2018 | 12:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

The CiCi Liquid Fruit candy has created quite a buzz at school gates where primary schoolchildren are exposed to the sweet.

A reliable source in Betty Ann Blaine has indicated that it seems that the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community is trying to make a statement. It has been declared that these candies are from China and India, and is not very age-appropriate for the group they have been targeting. The young impressionable minds are the ones that they are targeting. They are much more vulnerable at that age group to be captured in that lifestyle.

The Government should come out and act fast to try and fix this inappropriate age-group candy from spreading into the wider Jamaica and capture these youngsters into that despicable lifestyle.

These gay persons who have found it as the best thing since slice bread to advertise their lifestyles, is as evil and conniving as a wet hand. We have to reach out to protect these preteens from venturing into that pathway. It is really a crazy world out there, and the vampires are seeking the blood of the young to suck.

CiCi Liquid Fruit candy is taking the market as none other before it. But the advocates for a cleaner, gentler and milder society must come forward and ensure that the schoolchildren are moving in the right direction.

Some of these vendors do not care about the indescribable and discriminate behavior being perpetrated. Something has to be done to curtail the sale of these products by those vendors. We will have to take a stance to protect our children from such immoral acts.
