Zimbabwe loses a champion of the poor
THE EDITOR, Madam:
Zimbabwe has lost a member of parliament who wanted the poor and weak to have decent standards of living. It is heartbreaking and sorrowful to hear that the industrious, dedicated, and highly committed member of Zimbabwean parliament for Glen View North, Kennedy Dinar, who represented the opposition Movement for Democratic Change Alliance, died on November 3, 2020, after a short illness.
Dinar was a true servant to his constituency and one of the few members of parliament who were not self-centred but constituency-centred. He was a member of parliament in Zimbabwe who served with distinction, excellence, and success. His passion to raise the standard of living for the weak and poor people in his constituency was crystal clear. This is the member of parliament who worked towards equality and fairness in his constituency. He diligently raised standards for disabled people in his constituency who could not move from point A to point B.
Some recent excellent work in his constituency was the donation of 11 wheelchairs to people who were restricted in movement. It is highly appreciated that Dinar enhanced these people’s lives so that they can move around with ease – go from one place to another, go shopping, attend events, go to church, and visit relatives and friends without problems. It really hurts to lose someone who wanted equality for all people in his constituency. Dinar lived a life dedicated to his political party’s mission, objectives, goals, and objectives.
His services to the constituents were similar to the values of MDC Alliance, which include solidarity, justice, equality, liberty, freedom, transparency, and humility. He will be forever remembered for his dedication and sensitivity to people who are weak and poor. The ZANU PF members of parliament should learn from the dedication of Dinar and serve constituents with excellence.
May the soul of Kennedy Dinar rest in eternal peace, and we shall forever remember him for discharging the office of MP with usefulness and excellence.
