Idris Elba finds a SAINT
Fresh on the heels of her Lancôme global advertising campaign that dropped in March, SAINT International stunner Brit Knight is now aligned to yet another major name – A-list actor Idris Elba and his London-based clothing line, Don’t Stab Your Future (DSYF).
The Jamaican model from Linstead, St Catherine, is featured alongside Nigerian face Charles Nwosu in DSYF’s Spring/Summer 2023 capsule collection of sweatshirts, coach jackets, hoodies and baseball caps.
Elba founded DSYF as a social initiative in 2019 in response to a spate of knife attacks that had occurred across England at the time, and he became concerned about the high incidence of violence. With a view to act as a counterpoint, Elba’s DSYF anti-knife messaging in its apparel and accessories is meant to promote positivity among marginalised United Kingdom youth.
“I think it’s a good initiative for the black community in England and for someone like Idris with a large platform and public favour, I was happy he decided to permeate this message because a lot of young people are influenced by him,” Knight told The Gleaner on a phone call from Milan where she’s shooting projects for several luxury house clients.
Part proceeds from DSYF’s retail sales will directly benefit a number of English charities in raising awareness about anti-crime undertakings. Living hops across the pond to shop the closet of contemporary urban fashion.
