Mike Henry expresses sadness at murder of businessman Brandon Murray
Central Clarendon Member of Parliament and head of the Humble Lion Football Club Mike Henry is expressing regret at the killing of businessman and Sporting Central Academy operator, Brandon Murray, in St Andrew on Sunday.
Murray was shot multiple times in a gun attack.
Henry described Murray as having been very dedicated to football, especially at the youth levels.
“Sporting Central and Humble Lion were arch rivals on the field of play for years in both Clarendon football and at the National Premier League levels, but despite the intense competition it was always a cordial and very civil exchange and interaction at the administrative levels of the clubs,” Henry said.
He said that it was always a pleasure to drop in at the very popular eatery which the Murray family operates in Clarendon, “and the family, including Brandon, has certainly been a real asset to the parish”.
He extended “sincere condolence to the bereaved family in this very challenging period,” and urged them to take comfort in “the hard and purposeful work that Brandon undertook over the years in the best interest of his community and the sport which he loved so much”.
