Alleged serial robber charged in relation to $20M theft
The police in Old Harbour, St Catherine have charged a man who allegedly carried out a series of burglaries in the parish, stealing jewellery and other items valued at over $20 million.
Charged with housebreaking and larceny is 27-year-old Zabian Jackson, unemployed of an area called Africa in Old Harbour.
Jackson has held in connection with housebreaking in New Harbour Village where jewellery including a Rolex watch were stolen.
An investigation was launched and it was revealed that over US$200,000 in goods were stolen.
The police say Jackson was arrested after he allegedly attempted to sell the Rolex watch for $7000.
He was subsequently charged.
The police say further checks revealed that Jackson was recently released from custody in relation to similar crimes.
