Firearm and ammunition seized in Hanover, two in custody

A team assigned to the Hanover Police Division seized one firearm and fifteen rounds of ammunition during an operation in McQuarrie district, Sandy Bay, on Sunday.

Two persons are in custody in relation to the seizure.

The Sandy Bay Police report that about 5:00 a.m. the team was in the area when a premises,  which was occupied by a male and female, was searched.

According to the police, a  Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol with a magazine containing fifteen 9mm rounds of ammunition was found inside the house.

Both persons were arrested.
