Police High Command urges JCF members to be vigilant following cop killing

The Police High Command is encouraging all members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) to remain vigilant in their personal safety.

The high command made the appeal against the background of this morning’s fatal gun attack on Constable Toddmar Allen, who was assigned to the Mobile Reserve, at a bar in Rollington Town, Kingston.

The police reported that Allen, who served the JCF for over 12 years, was among patrons at the establishment when about 12:15 a.m. two men armed with guns approached and opened fire at him.

The police were summoned and Allen was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

In a statement this afternoon, the police high command condemned the attack.

“The police will continue working hard to prevent senseless acts of violence like these and we seek the further support of all law-abiding citizens to reverse the culture of violence in our island. The police will not be deterred in our efforts to enforce law and order and build safer communities.”
