Suspected suicide at Flat Bridge in St Catherine

The police are reporting that 49-year-old Ava Thelwell of Shortwood Drive, Kingston 8 is suspected to have committed suicide at Flat Bridge in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
It is reported that about 2:20 p.m. on Friday, Thelwell, who the police say had been lingering around the bridge since 10:00 a.m., allegedly drove to the middle of the structure, stopped and then drove her Suzuki Grand Vitara into the river.
She was assisted by divers and taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
